Growing up in Littleton, Colorado, Ms. Chenault-Fattah was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement and planned to practice law from the age of seven. After attending Johns Hopkins University, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1982. Ms. Chenault-Fattah clerked for the Honorable Damon J. Keith, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and practiced law for several years at the New York law firm, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, before returning to school to study journalism. Since 1991, Ms. Chenault-Fattah has worked as a reporter and news anchor in Philadelphia.
