The Iowa State Grange, formed in 1868, is the state of Iowa's representative to the National Grange. The National Grange was established in 1867, originally to assist farmers after the Civil War. The national agricultural fraternity and its associated state units lobby for and promote the economic well-being and quality of life of the American farmer. Oliver Hudson Kelley is credited with founding the National Grange.
