Hide Profile

Jennett Bowles, sometimes called Netty, lived in Van Buren County, Iowa and preserved the letters sent to her by male friends in the 1860s. Thomas B. Coffman writes about life in the 30th Iowa Infantry, including taking part in Sherman's March to the Sea. Benton Russell wrote partially in code and worries about his farm and family.
