These diaries, interleaved in Farmer's Almanacks for 1843 and 1844, have been attributed to the Reverend Jason Whitman (1799-1848). A member of the Harvard class of 1825, he graduated from Harvard Divinity School in 1831 and served Unitarian societies in Saco and Portland, Maine. He married Mary Fairfield (1799- ) of Saco.
