Duluth and Winnipeg Terminal Company.

Hide Profile

The company was incorporated by Duluth and Winnipeg Railroad interests in 1892 to build and operate dock and terminal facilities to meet the demand posed by the burgeoning iron ore industry in northern Minnesota. Like the railway, the terminal company came under control of the Canadian Pacific, but went into receivership in 1894. It was then acquired by Great Northern interests and was reincorporated in 1897 as the Duluth, Superior and Western Terminal Company. The company's corporate charter was forfeited in 1898.
