Gardiner family.
John Gardiner, Sr. (1846-1930) was a prominent civil engineer and Tucson resident since 1881. His son, John H. Gardiner (1894-1956) was the USGS Water Survey District Engineer for Arizona. While attending the University of Arizona, he enlisted and served with expeditionary forces in France during World War I.
