Rochester Institute of Technology. Biology Club,

Hide Profile

The RIT Biology Club was formed in the fall of 1968 for undergraduate biology majors at the Rochester Institute of Technology for individuals with a strong interest in the fields of scientific biology. Its stated purpose was: to promote a deeper interest in biology among the students, to bring these students together and allow them the opportunity to exchange ideas, to make the students aware of the areas of biological importance, whether educational, industrial, or geographical, and to provide the student members with an organization that will aid them in pursuing their work in biology while at RIT. The group officially became a school organization in the winter of 1968-1969. During its first year the club organized a series of seminars on biological subjects, prepared a pamphlet for the biology department, and compiled a group of newsletters with articles on "events of biological importance."
