Nelson, Sam Jesse, 1925-
Variant namesBorn in 1925 in Glendale, Miss., Sam Jesse Nelson, Jr. served in the U.S. Army in Europe in World War II and was a prisoner of war from 1944 until the war's end. After returning to Mississippi, he worked as a teacher, a salesman, and with the U.S. Postal Service before his retirement in 1990. He lives in Hattiesburg.
