Allison, James Nicholls, 1848-1918
Variant namesJames N. Allison was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He was a private, 39th Kentucky Infantry Regiment; 2nd, 1st lieutenant and captain, 2nd U.S. Cavalry Regiment. He attended the U.S. Military Academy from 1867-1871 and was stationed in the Western frontier from 1871-1893. He was transfered to the Commissary Department in 1893 and rose to become Assistant Commissary General in 1907. He retired from the military service as a brigadier general in 1912.
