American Lutheran Church (1961-1987). President's Council.

Hide Profile

The name of the President's Council changed four times during its life. It was called Cabinet, Service Council, President's Council, Executive Staff, and General Staff. Its composition and duties remained the same, however, over its life. The President's Council was made up of the head officers of each department of the Church. Its purpose was to study, discuss and appraise the program of the Church, and to give the president the opportunity to counsel with the heads of the departments in order that he may be able to give a more comprehensive report of the State of the Church to the districts.
