Harlan Loy Shrader has had a long history in the poultry industry. Shrader was an investigator in poultry and egg handling. Food Research Laboratory, USDA from 1914-1917. He served as an Extension Poultry Scientist in Missouri. In 1926 he became a Senior Extension Poultry Husbandman with Federal Extension Service. He retired in 1959. Shrader was a charter member of the National Chicken of Tomorrow Contest Committee. He was a member of the Poultry Science Association and served as its President form 1929-1930.
