Aid to Russian Christians (Victorian Association)

Hide Profile

Aid to Russian Christians was formed in Melbourne in the early 1980s by Bishop James Grant, and ran until approximately 1987. The Victorian group had links to a similar organisation in England, started in 1974 in response to requests from recent Orthodox emigres from the Soviet Union indicating that citizens in Moscow and elsewhere were in material need as a result of deprivations they had suffered because of practising their religion.
