Elizabeth Carswell, ( 1919-1978 ) wrote plays under the pen name of Joan Ure . She wrote plays for the stage and the radio. Her plays included: The Lecturer and the Lady, A Hatred Like This, and The Hard Case . She was a founder member of the Society of Scottish Playwrights in 1973.
