Boyer, Richard Owen, 1903-1973
Variant namesRichard and Sophia Boyer were husband and wife journalists and authors. Richard Boyer worked for several newspaper and magazines, including "The New Yorker," "The New York Herald Tribune," "The St. Louis Post Dispatch," and "The Boston Herald." In addition, he authored books on American labor and John Brown.
Sophia Boyer wrote under her maiden name, Sophia Ripley Ames, for various periodicals and authored the nonfiction juvenile book "Nkrumah of Ghana," an autobiography on the Ghanaian President Kwame Nkrumah.
