Joseph Pearson (1759-1840) and his wife, Mary (Farrar) Pearson (1762-1789), lived in Sterling, Mass., and had five children: Polly (1782- ), Anna (1783- ), Silas (1785- ), Betsey (1786- ), and Nehemiah. Nehemiah Pearson (1789-1874) and his wife, Catherine (1796?-1884), also lived in Sterling.

Joseph Pearson married a second time to an unknown wife, with whom he had six children: Clara (1797- ), Increase Sumner (1799- ), Richmond (1802- ), Joseph (1804- ), Meroa (1807- ), and Charles (1810- ). Richmond and Joseph settled in Wisconsin and worked as farmers. Sumner resided in Pleasant Brook, N.Y., and worked as a farmer and a cooper.
