Tracy, A. S. (Amasa Sawyer)
Served with the rank of Colonel in the Civil War as Commanding Officer of the 2nd Vermont Infantry Regiment, 1861-1865. Was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his exemplary service at the Battle of Cedar Creek, Va., Oct. 19, 1864. After the war, he was the Departmental Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic in Vermont and Postmaster at Middlebury, Vt.
