Unione Italiana (Tampa, Fla.)
Variant namesL'Unione Italiana (The Italian Club) is a mutual aid society established by Tampa's Italian immigrant community in 1894. For generations, it was a center for social and cultural life in Tampa. Its buildings in Ybor City and West Tampa offered a variety of recreational and educational activities to its members, including large, fully equipped theatres and ballrooms. The Italian Club also provided its members with medical care, unemployment insurance, and educational opportunities.
