Practiced medicine in Buffalo 1895-1950. Avid amateur archaeologist; superintendent of the Division of Ethnology and Archaeology at the Pan-American Exposition, 1901. Also active as an editor of several medical publications, and served as a medical officer in the New York National Guard, 1917-1924. The son of Nathan G. and Gracia Smith Benedict and husband of Vida G. Benedict.
