Pennsylvania. Militia. Regiment, 2nd.

Hide Profile

The Second Light Infantry Regiment of the Pennsylvania Militia was mustered into service in September 1814, and was a detached militia in service of the United States until the end of 1814. In October 1814, the Second Regiment was camped on the Delaware River at Marcus Hook, possibly to protect Philadelphia from a British invasion. While stationed there, the commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Louis Bache, was arrested and court-martialed on the charges of mutiny and insubordination, as well as other related charges. However, after the trial, Bache was promoted to the rank of Colonel, and retained his command of the regiment until it was mustered out of service in December 1814.
