Weldon Osborn Yeager was born on July 26, 1922 at Hillsboro, Ohio. He received his B.S. degree from Wayne State University. He was appointed by Gov. Romney to serve as director of the Workmen's Compensation Dept. (1964). He was elected to the Michigan House in 1968, representing the 17th District. He was very active in the Republican Party at all levels and served on various governor's commissions dealing with labor issues such as occupational safety and worker's compensation. He was also a delegate to the state constitutional convention of 1961-1962.
