Butters, John, Sir, 1885-1969
Variant namesBorn in England, Butters was an engineer with the Tasmanian Hydro-Electric Dept. (1914-1924) before being appointed Chief Commissioner, Federal Capital Commission (1925-1929). He maintained a consulting engineering practice until 1954, whilst being a director of many companies, and chairman of various committees.
