Chemists' Club (New York, N.Y.)

Hide Profile

The Chemists Club was an offshoot of the New York City chapter of the American Chemical Society. It was founded as a place where academic and industrial chemists could meet and recreate. During its peak years it was one of the largest organizations of its kind in the country and operated out of a small hotel in midtown Manhattan. The geographic dispersal of the chemical industry and changing patterns of social intercourse led to the slow but steady decline in the club's fortunes. The Chemists Club currently exists in midtown Manhattan in space leased from Club Quarters
