Douglas S. Brown was born October 14, 1914 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in 1939 and a master's degree in economics in 1940. He taught economics in various universities. Beginning in 1951, he was employed in the banking industry becoming senior economic and investment analyst with the National Bank of Detroit. He died in November 1956.
