Sister in the French Roman Catholic Order of Servantes du Sainte-Sacrement. A great-granddaughter of Civil War General Philip Kearney, Lucy Kearney Hill was born in 1904 in Richmond, Va., and grew up in Richmond, Charlottesville, Va. and Cape May, N.J. She graduated from Manhattanville College, N.Y., in 1924, entered the contemplative Order of Servantes du Sainte-Sacrement in 1929, making her final profession in 1932. For the next 50 years she lived in convents in Angers, Chalonnes, Paris and Lyon.
