Since 1990 the Division of Risk Management of the Ala. Dept. of Finance has been responsible for administering the State Insurance Fund and the General Liability Trust Fund, and for acquiring other policies of insurance for the various departments of state government in Ala. Between 1967 and 1990 those duties were exercised by the State Insurance Fund Division of the Finance Dept. From 1940 to 1967 the State Insurance Fund was under the general supervision of the Dept. of Finance.
