Ruth F. Anthony was born March 1, 1914, in Manhattan, Kansas to Curt and Erna Kreutzberger Miller. After graduating from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia in 1942, she taught at Pinckney School in Lawrence in the 1940s and then taught in Wichita. She later worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. She was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Force medical detachment. About 1980, Mrs. Anthony moved back to Lawrence, where she died on January 14, 1994.
