Jane Nelson Grieve Westwater (also known as Jean) was born in Burntisland, Fife in 1907 , the daughter of Robert who was a teacher. She came to the University of Glasgow in 1924 to study Arts. In her first year she studied French and Latin. In 1925-6 she studied English and Moral Philosophy. In her third year, 1926-7, she studied English (Higher Ordinary), Political Economy and Geology. She graduated MA in 1927 . Jane went on to become a teacher and married c 1932 to become Mrs James Waddell. After this they moved to Berlin, Germany with an address given as c/o Price, Waterhouse. However, she did not maintain contact with the University and therefore nothing more is known about her career and life.
