Edgerton, Ralph P, Judge.
Judge Edgerton graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1927, and earned degrees from Whitman College and Gonzaga University. He was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1936 and maintained a law practice until 1949. In that same year he was appointed Superior Court Judge, a position he held until 1972, when he was appointed state Court of Appeals Judge by Governor Daniel Evans. He also ran for election that year and was defeated. He retired, but served as a pro tempore judge on the Court of Appeals from 1973 to 1994. He was a member of several civic organizations, including the Eastern Washington State Historical Society, Sons of the American Revolution, the Westerners, and the Whitman College Board of Overseers. He was a prolific researcher, and authored biographies of Eric Johnston, George Planthaler, E.D. Edgerton and Ranald MacDanald and also wrote on the history of Spokane.
