Robb family.
John Hipkins Bernard was the son of William Bernard and Fannie Hipkins Bernard. His grandfather was John Hipkins. Bernard inherited "Rose Hill,"Caroline County, Va. from his grandfather and renamed it "Gay Mont" in honor of his wife Jane Gay Robertson Bernard, the sister of Governor Wyndham Robertson. Bernard's daughter Helen Struan Bernard Robb bought her siblings' interest in "Gay Mont."
