Jones, Leah A., 1965-
Born in Chicago, Ill., Leah Wilson moved to Iowa City, Iowa, in 1983 where she attended the University of Iowa. She began her studies as a business major but changed her emphasis to social work, graduating in 1987 with a B.S. in Sociology. While a student, Wilson was active in her church choir and Voices of Soul, a university affiliated choral group. She was also a member of the Black Student Association and served as a counselor for the university's Upward Bound Program.
Wilson married Leroy Jones in 1988 and subsequently moved to Texas where she was employed as a clinical social worker.
