Ley, Willy, 1906-1969
Variant namesWilly Ley (1906-1969) was a German-American science writer and space advocate. Born in Berlin, he was one of the first members of Germany's amateur rocket group, the Verein für Raumschiffahrt. He came to the United States in the 1930s, and wrote numerous articles and books on rocketry and spaceflight, as well as on zoology. He was also a fan of science fiction.
