Johnson, Jane Maynard Stewart.
Jane Maynard Stewart Johnson was born in Somerville, Massachusetts; she attended Radcliffe College from 1929 to 1932, majoring in fine arts, but did not graduate. After training at the Radcliffe Summer Secretarial School for two summers, she became secretary at the Boston Brush Co. in Cambridge. She married Olof William Johnson in 1940 and from 1944-1954 owned and operated the Old Harbor Candle Company at Hyannisport. She was staff assistant at the Harvard University Press from 1954 to 1978.
