Born in 1906 in East Prussia, Zutraun traveled and lived in the Middle East before coming to the U.S. He was a civil engineer who had an office in San Francisco. He consulted on numerous San Francisco Bay Area projects, most often for Homer J. Olsen, Inc. and Kulchin-Wagner, Inc.
