Smith family.
The Manor of Saint George was the estate of the Smith family in the Town of Brookhaven, granted by royal patent in 1693 to Col. William "Tangier" Smith (1654 or 5-1704 or 5). The original manor house was located in Setauket, N.Y. The house currently known as the Manor of Saint George is near Mastic on the south shore of Long Island, N.Y.
