Union soldier; Co. H, Seventh Connecticut Volunteers; native of Bozrah, Ct.; teacher; killed in action, 17 June 1864, during Bermuda Hundred campaign in Chesterfield County, Va.; originally buried at City Point, Va., but was reinterred at the City Point National Cemetery, Hopewell, Va. (plot 611).
