The Negro Rural School Fund, also known as the Anna T. Jeanes Foundation, was created in 1907 in order to financially assist the rural community schools for African Americans in the South. The Fund was used primarily to assist the work of African American industrial teachers by extending school terms, supplementing their salaries, and building new facilities.
