King, William Woodson, b. 1813.

William Woodson King (1813-1881) was a prosperous New Orleans attorney married to Sarah Ann Miller King ("Mimi"). The family spent the period of the Civil War at their plantation, L'Embarras, in St. Martin Parish, La., but returned to New Orleans in poverty some years later. William Woodson King was the father of New Orleans novelist, historian, and littérateur, Grace King.
