The Louisiana State University Steering Committee for the University Self-Study was appointed by Chancellor Cecil G. Taylor in May 1971 to conduct a university self-study to comply with the requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The study was conducted during the 1971-72 academic year, completed in the fall of 1972, and followed by a SACS Visiting Committee in February 1973.
