The San Francisco Partnership was established in 1995 under the auspices of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce as a partnership among the Chamber of Commerce, the City of San Francisco and investors in the program such as private businesses. It was founded as a means of marketing the city of San Francisco's advantages as a place to do business, in order to create new jobs, retain current businesses and encourage companies to relocate in San Francisco.
Jay Cahill was a member of the Executive Committee in the San Francisco Partnership and owner of Cahill Contractors, Inc.
