Biography of Marcia B. Siegel, b. 1932
Marcia B. Siegel is an international dance critic and lecturer. She has served as critic for the Hudson Review and the Boston Phoenix, as well as reviewer for New York Magazine, Christian Science Monitor, and Soho Weekly News. Siegel is the author of several books and collections of essays and criticism including: At the Vanishing Point; The Shapes of Change; Howling Near Heaven – Twyla Tharp and the Reinvention of Modern Dance; Days on Earth – the dance of Doris Humphrey; Mirrors and Scrims – The Life and Afterlife of Ballet. She holds a CMA certificate in Laban Movement Analysis, and was resident faculty at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, 1983-1999.
