Trinity Lutheran Church (Silverton, Or.)

Hide Profile

Trinity was organized as the Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Silverton, Oregon. The present name was adopted in 1917. It was a member of the Norwegian Synod and formed by a group of Scandinavians who came out from the Midwest. The first pastor came in 1893, and a church was erected that year. As this was too small, a new church was built in 1919. In 1954 an education unit was church offices was constructed, and in 1971 extensive remodeling was completed on the sanctuary and and front of the building.

The congregation has had a strong emphasis on mission support and sponsors missionaries to foreign fields.
