John E. Martineau (1873-1928) served as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives (1902-1905), chancellor of the First Chancery Court (1907-1927), Arkansas governor (1927-1928), and judge of the Federal District Court for Eastern Arkansas (1928-1937).
