Hamilton family.
Family of Charles B. and Sarah C. (Luckett) Hamilton who immigrated to Illinois, first settling in Cass County and later Bath, Mason County, from Virginia in 1855.
They had seven children, six of which survived to adulthood. Their son Julius married Virginia Van Deventer, had three children and eventually settled in Champaign, Illinois, as a lumber dealer. Son Samuel L. Hamilton, husband of Eleanor Sinclair, became a grain dealer in Carlinville, Illinois. Son Charles L. Hamilton served in the 85th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War, and later also lived in Carlinville.
