Innis Palmer Swift (b. Feb. 7, 1882, Fort Laramie, Wyoming-d. Nov. 3, 1953), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1904. He served as major of the Infantry and lieutenant colonel of the Cavalry with the American Expeditionary Force in 1917 and 1918. He also served during the Philippine Insurrection and the Punitive Expedition to Mexico. During World War II, he served with the 1st Cavalry Division, in the Admiralty Islands and Dutch New Guinea, the Philippines, and during the occupation of Japan in 1945.
