Oakwood School (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
In 1858, Friends' Academy of Union Springs was approved by New York Yearly Meeting. In 1879 the name was changed to Oakwood Seminary, although catalogues for the years 1889 and 1890 use the name "Friends Academy." In 1921 the name of the school changed to Oakwood School and the school moved to Poughkeepsie, where it remains today.
