John William "Sky" Dunlap was an Orange County, California journalist, publisher, and owner-operator of the Pacific Clipping Service. Dunlap, born March 8, 1912, was nicknamed "Sky" because of his height: he was 6'8" tall. He married Velma Bishop in 1934 and the couple started an independent newspaper in Orange County called The Globe. He died on November 15, 1968 in Santa Ana, California.
