Ridgway family.
Robert Ridgway was an ornitholigist of national significance.
He participated in the U.S.G.S. 40th parallel survey as the expeditions zoologist. He later became a member of the Smithsonian staff, where his career flourished.
John Ridgway was a prominent scientific illustrator.
He worked as chief illustrator for the U.S.G.S., the scientific illustrator for the California Institute of Technology and the Carnegie Institution.
