Westerners. Llano Estacado Corral (Lubbock, Tex.)
Association of Western history enthusiasts. Organized in 1959 at Lubbock, Texas, as the Staked Plains Corral, the name was changed to the Llano Estacado Corral in 1974. Local group of Westerners International, which organized in 1944 at Chicago, Illinois, with the stated purpose: "to perpetuate the lore and history of the American West." Charter members of the Lubbock group included Forrest Fenn, Bill Griggs, Frank Conselman, David Vigness, Bob Nash, Jerry House, James Baker and Eugene Kingman.
