Dr. George C. Kendle was born in Posey County, Indiana on 22 October 1853. He was married to Louise Smyth and they had at least two children. Kendle went to Bellevue Hospital Medical College in New York to study medicine. He graduated in 1879 and practiced medicine in Abilene, Kansas for two years. He returned to Indiana in 1881 and began private practice in Princeton, Indiana in Gibson County. According to the 1930 census, he was still living and practicing in Princeton.
