Clarkson, Jesse D. (Jesse Dunsmore), 1897-
Variant namesAn act of the General Assembly passed March 30, 1863, provided for the production and distribution of salt, and created the office of superintendent of salt works, held by J. Clarkson. An amendment passed March 10, 1864 approved the power of the superintendent to hire assistants, detailed how the salt would be sold and distributed, and enumerated the duties of the board of supervisors.
